The role of the qualifications committee is to ensure players are ranked appropriately and to review reclassification requests. Ranking appropriately is based on League Operator input as well as known ability, rankings in other tournaments, and past ISPA results.
Let's face it, life happens. People quit playing for family, health, and age and we get it. You aren't going to come back playing your best if you've taken a significant amount of time off. You could have had a stellar performance one year that qualified you to get moved to the next division but haven't been able to break the top half since. This is where the reclassification request enters the scene.
Talk to your League Operator. The reclassification requests MUST be submitted by the League Operator; reclassification requests not submitted by the League Operator will not be reviewed. Reclassification requests are due by July 1st each year. Once received, the reclassification requests are reviewed by the Qualifications committee and may or may not be approved based on known ability, rankings in other tournaments, and ISPA results.
If the reclassification request is denied, you will have a chance to appeal the Qualification Committee's decision. In order to do this, the player will need to complete the Qualification Appeal Form within 45 days of decision. Please follow the instructions on the form in order for the appeal to be considered.
